It is vital to discuss the entrepreneur’s self-belief.
It is paramount to their thinking, behaviour and attitude throughout everything they do.
Self-belief can be confused with confidence or even over confidence. Such traits may get in the way of the entrepreneur’s judgement, but that is not the case.
In our survey when entrepreneur’s were asked if they backed their own judgement rather than taking risks. The answer was an emphatic 100% – yes.
When asked to mark out of ten their confidence of their own ability it came out as 8.16. High.
The 1005 mark was the only question which returned that result. This is very telling as the skills referred to before in this series of insights can all be summarised in this one specific attribute.
They all possess self-belief.
Self-belief must not turn into self-interest. That attribute can overtake and cloud judgement self-interest may take the form of quicker than expected or normal paybacks. Or/and withholding investment into new products. The next bigger house or car or holiday is more tempting than the development of the business.
The humility and modesty of the entrepreneur goes hand in hand with the self-belief.
Look out for them. They are measurably extremely favourable personality traits of the business man, boss and entrepreneur.
