Jealousy

Jealousy

The passage which I include in my book ‘Drive Like a Real Entrepreneur’  from the Ragged Trousered Philanthropist demonstrates the jealousy pervading by the working man who (in their own view) makes the capitalist rich.

The working man has no idea of;

  • The hard work
  • The risk
  • The finance required
  • The ideology to create the business

Our survey asked;

  • Do you feel others are jealous of you? 61% answered yes
  • Would it be easier if had a job and not your own business? 25% answered yes

All of this attitude grew and grew during the first half of the 20th century as the Labour party, the champion of the working man put in a number of benefits and welfare measures for the lower paid.

And it is all of this which creates the jealousy of the successful entrepreneur so embedded in our social make up as they rely on benefits while the entrepreneur and wealth gap grows.

The anti-thesis of their status in the USA.

Remarkably the entrepreneur is respected and revered in the USA.

It is very worthwhile to remember this and also it is a 2 way street. The workers in your business need market pay, respect and training to enable them to do their job better and better for the success for the business.
